My experience of working with PML Applications was overwhelmingly positive. They deliver an outstanding quality of work on time and are communicative throughout a project's life cycle. They share and engage with our wider goals, which means they are active participants in shaping the direction of a project to deliver the best possible outcomes.

Thales was organising a complex, multi-domain trial that needed to include air and maritime assets. The trial had to utilise multiple different technologies, spread across multiple platforms and given the air & sea element, had a wide range of external stakeholders. Having PML Applications in the trials team undoubtedly contributed to the success of the event. PML Application's attitude – from the pre-planning, through to approvals, management and delivery – were instrumental in the realisation of the trial. Their approach to being an integrated member in the wider team as well as their responsive and reactive problem solving was hugely respected. "Canadian-based Planetary Technologies is a world leader in the research and development of Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement, an ocean-based carbon dioxide removal (CDR) strategy receiving significant UK and international attention as a potentially important climate change mitigation strategy. As part of this R&D effort, Planetary teamed up with PML Applications in early 2022 to investigate the viability of this approach in an area off the Cornish coast. The PML Applications team, led by Tim Fileman and Sam Fawcett, and including lead biogeochemist Vassilis Kitidis, have facilitated exceptional progress in these efforts. The PML Applications team has provided a remarkably wide range of services, including laboratory analyses, extensive permit applications, and custom hardware engineering. Given the complex, timely, and unique nature of this work, the consistent responsiveness, flexibility, and hard-work of this team has been essential to our success. Our achievements thus far have led to rapid growth in Planetary’s UK scope, and our collaboration with PML Applications will continue to be a foundational component of this work. Over the last years, local and international regulators focused on in-water cleaning and its impact on the ocean. Rolls-Royce engaged with PML Applications Ltd to undertake a challenging marine engineering project. The project investigated a novel anti-fouling technology for marine propellers. The team at PML Applications Ltd were quick to appreciate the potential for this technology. They helped us evaluate and demonstrate the technology working up from test pieces up to full size components. PML Applications Ltd undertook unique testing with bespoke test rigs to evaluate propeller fouling in a real-world marine environment. This developed the technology from TRL 3 to TRL 6 and we are now seeking to commercialise our novel antifouling technology.

PML Applications Ltd were responsive and reliable, delivering an excellent quality of technical work. They were able to address the unique aspects of this project and overcame many technical challenges, ensuring that they always delivered on time and within budget.

From desk-top study and professional advice, through to design of the subsea trials, and then work offshore to evaluate and report on the recovered test rig.

Coldharbour Marine has worked with PML Applications since 2009. The unique approach to Ballast Water Treatment adopted by Coldharbour Marine meant that independent verification of the efficacy of each of the treatment stages that make up the system was required.
